Thomas Calder, from popular Brisbane band The Trouble With Templeton, has won the 2014 Grant McLennan Fellowship. The $25,000 Fellowship offers the recipient an opportunity to travel to New York, London or Berlin for up to 6 months and use the experience of being immersed in a foreign and vibrant musical culture to develop their own artistic skills.

The Fellowship was established in 2007 in honour of the late Queensland singer-songwriter Grant McLennan (The Go-Betweens) and is awarded to Calder who has also won the 2013 APRA PDA Songwriting Award, and placed third in the 2013 International Songwriting Competition.

"I'm very proud and thankful to be chosen for such a prestigious award, and extremely honoured that it's in the name of a songwriter so incredibly inspiring as Grant McLennan." - Thomas Calder
